The facilities and what you need to bring…

Here are details of the amenities and facilities at Little Seed Field, also some ideas about what you may need to bring to make your say enjoyable.

Our site is not a landscaped holiday park. The log cabins have been built sympathetically with the natural surroundings. Due to this and our remote location, not all cabins have en-suite bathroom facilities. There is a shared, separate amenity building a short walk from the cabins.

This centrally heated amenity building contains wet rooms and a small kitchenette facility. Here you can source water, use the toaster, microwave and kettle and wash-up your cabin supplies.

Car parking less than 100 yards from the cabin site and wheelbarrows are provided to transport your luggage along the footpaths to your cabin.

Connectivity

We do not provide wifi facilities on site and mobile signal can be hard to come by – there are very few areas where you can receive 3G/4G signal – come prepared to be off-grid (one of the things we love so much about our destination)!

Our recently added, purpose built communal area provides the perfect space to eating and socialising – designed to accommodate everyone staying.

The wooden built eco space sits on the at the top of the site and has an open ended front so you can still enjoy the fresh air and scenery. The area also can be used as a classroom space for group learning events.

Again we have designed the building to weather over time and blend into the surroundings – constructed with ethically sourced timber and sustainable materials, it’s a great addition to the field.

What you need to bring

Our site can be quite exposed to the elements and is remote and as you would expect, the weather can be changeable, one of the joys of the Yorkshire Dales, so be prepared with appropriate clothing. We recommend that you bring warm clothing, wellies and basics like a torch.

Our water supply is from a natural spring and as part of our plan to minimise the impact on our environment, we encourage everyone to use our water sparingly and to bring bottled water, if possible. There is a fresh water supply provided in the amenity building.

We provide all bedding required for the beds, including feather duvets and memory foam pillows. Please bring additional bedding and blankets should you feel the need for extra layers.

On site there are facilities to make a light breakfast and each cabin has access to an outside BBQ. We recommend you bring your own cool boxes, charcoal, food, drinks and all the other little extras you would take on a camping trip – we do not have a shop on site and the closest shop is several miles away so be sure to bring everything you need.

Our cabins are designed for indoor footwear only and we ask our guests to leave wellingtons and walking boots in the porch area. Please bring suitable clean footwear for use inside the cabins.

Furry friends

We do welcome well behaved dogs but it’s important  that they are kept on a lead – we are a working farm and do everything we can to avoid disturbing or unsettling the dairy herd – and also our own working dogs.
